What
is Home-Start?
Home-Start Bassetlaw have been
established since 1984, and have supported families from all walks of
life throughout the district of Bassetlaw.
Home-Start is
one of a network of 340 local Home-Starts in the UK. We offer friendship
and support to parents with young children in a variety of situations,
including isolation, bereavement, multiple births, illness, disability or
those who are just finding parenting a struggle - so that every child can
have the best possible start in life.
Home-Start has a powerful impact on the
lives of thousands of families every day, offering support that cuts
across all boundaries - of gender, social class, ethnic origin and
financial status.
We recruit parent-volunteers to provide
support tailored to families' needs. We are locally funded and
accountable, but comply with national standards and methods of practice of
Home-Start, and with the Home-Start Quality Assurance and monitoring
systems.
